Poppies Amsterdam:
Residential building made of 109 wooden modules
The Poppies apartment building in Amsterdam is an impressive example of how modular timber construction combines ecological and structural advantages. It consists of four buildings with three, four, five and six storeys, grouped around a green courtyard with a garden.
The modular design makes the residential complex flexible and circular in use. Only the foundation level and the ground floor are made of reinforced concrete; the rest of the complex is built entirely of timber.
