Topping-out ceremony on the DERIX campus

A significant stage in the construction process has been reached: the DERIX Group, together with numerous project stakeholders, celebrated the topping-out ceremony for the new DERIX Campus in Niederkrüchten. This marks another milestone for the project on the path to completing a forward-looking site.
Everyone contributing to the realisation of the campus was invited to the topping-out ceremony – from planners and the construction companies carrying out the work to staff members. The focus was on expressing collective gratitude to all those involved, whose dedication, expertise and collaboration have made this challenging construction project possible.

A particular highlight of the event was the traditional topping-out ceremony itself: dressed in carpenters’ overalls, the topping-out speech was delivered from the scaffolding – a symbolic moment that impressively underlines the connection between craftsmanship, building culture and living tradition.
And, of course, the symbolic finale was not to be missed: as everyone raised their glasses in a toast, they were smashed in accordance with tradition – a sign of good luck and success for the rest of the construction project.

In addition, the client, Simone Derix, made a personal gesture: the hammering in of the final carpenter’s nail served as a symbolic tribute to the current progress of the build.
Afterwards, the guests took the opportunity to chat informally at a relaxed get-together and to catch a first glimpse of the buildings, where the interior fit-out is already visibly progressing.

The new campus embodies the consistent implementation of DERIX’s approach to sustainable and circular construction. The aim is to conserve resources, design building components to be dismantled, and keep materials in circulation in the long term.

The campus itself comprises a modern office and administration building as well as a raw timber warehouse, thereby creating space for the DERIX Group’s further growth.
