Component dimension in wood glue construction
In wood glue construction, beams with different thicknesses from 8,10,…,26 to 30 cm are used. The ratio of width to height (b/h) is of great importance because it influences the stability of the component. The ratio should be b/h ≤ 10 to ensure safety.
Another important parameter in glulam construction is the maximum component length. This can be up to 62 m, but the transport width of 5.50 m should not be exceeded to enable safe transport.
Careful dimensioning of the components is therefore of great importance in glulam construction to ensure a stable and safe structure.
