Logistics Hall
Four Parx
In Cologne-Wesseling, the logistics hall supporting structure was erected for a flexibly usable hall area in the warehouse and logistics sector. The supporting structure consists of glulam fish-bellied girders with a length of up to 36 metres. The large span of the supporting structure created a generous, column-free storage area.

Extra space
The supporting structure of the Four Parx logistics hall consists of almost 200 wooden components with lengths of up to 36 metres. The hall area totals 18,000m² with a hall height of between 10 and 13.50 metres.

Prizes & Awards
for the Four Parx logistics hall
DGNB
Certificate Gold
Sustainability is the trump card: the logistics hall was assessed in terms of life cycle, holism and performance and was awarded the DGNB Gold certificate. Wood played an important role here as a sustainable building material for the supporting structure.
The advantages of wood
in the Four Parx logistics hall
The hall’s timber structure leads to an enormous weight saving compared to other structural systems and enables large spans. The resulting large, column-free areas can be used very flexibly. The wooden structure is resistant to chemically aggressive climates and has a long service life. Due to the very high degree of prefabrication of the timber components, it was possible to assemble the supporting structure within a few days.
Sustainable
logistics hall
When designing the logistics hall, great importance was attached to sustainability. The chosen timber construction saves CO2 and is therefore ideal for DGNB certification. The hall meets the DGNB Gold standard.
