Hitachi Campus at a Glance

Jobs with a future
Room for innovation, efficiency and responsible action

The Hitachi Campus in Mannheim embodies a modern, sustainable building concept centred on eco-friendly materials and efficient construction methods. The use of timber as the primary building material enables a resource-efficient construction process and contributes to a healthy indoor environment and a positive carbon footprint. The campus combines flexible office and development spaces within a clearly structured, modular design. Prefabricated timber elements ensure precise processes, short construction times and high quality. At the same time, open-plan layouts and communal areas create a working environment that fosters collaboration and innovation. From the ground floor upwards, the load-bearing structure is predominantly timber, enabling a resource-efficient, low-carbon construction method that is highly suitable for deconstruction. The campus combines two office buildings into a connected workplace for up to 750 staff. Green courtyards, roof gardens and open spaces that encourage interaction foster communication and improve the microclimate. From a technical standpoint, the project also stands out for its sustainable energy concepts, which ensure long-term operational efficiency: Photovoltaic systems and efficient building technology form the foundation for climate-neutral operations. Combined with the wood-frame construction, this creates a future-proof corporate location that balances environmental responsibility with economic requirements. The Hitachi Campus in Mannheim demonstrates how modern timber construction creates high-performance, flexible, and sustainable buildings for the workplace of tomorrow.
