Winter Market Alpenzauber
 in Cologne

For the winter market Alpenzauber in Cologne in the period from November to February 2013, three gastro huts were built, each equipped with terraces and seating niches. Each of the huts has a very rustic ambience with flamed wooden surfaces and has been named after a specific name: “Rosis Alm”, “Gipfelstürmer Alm” and “Tiroler Hütte”. The huts offered visitors to the Winter Market a cosy and authentic retreat. In addition to the huts, DERIX made an entrance arch for the entire Christmas market, consisting of two glulam arches that cross over each other.

The project consists of an entrance arch and three huts. The “Rosis Alm” hut has a total of 288 m² of interior space, including a bar and a 64 m² kitchen as well as a spacious 112 m² terrace. The “Gipfelstürmer Alm” has an indoor area of 144 m² and a 96 m² terrace. The “Tiroler Hütte” is the largest of the three huts, with 384 m² of interior space, a 40 m² hut, a 128 m² kitchen and a 128 m² terrace.

Thanks to the wood used, the huts are particularly flexible and can be easily dismantled at the end of the temporary winter market. The log cabins made of wood also give the market an authentic outdoor appearance that perfectly matches the winter atmosphere.
