“The Cradle” convinced
at the polis Convention

As part of the congress accompanying the trade fair, the reference project “The Cradle”, the first timber hybrid office building in Düsseldorf, was presented on the first day of the event. “The Cradle” is a lighthouse project in circular engineered timber construction, developed in accordance with the Cradle to Cradle® principle. Following the keynote address by architect Thomas Rau, the project managers from architecture, project development and timber construction responsible for “The Cradle” gave impulses for the initiation and implementation of sustainable, energy-positive and circular buildings in a discussion round.

At the joint stand of Studiengemeinschaft Holzleimbau e.V., Informationsdienst Holz and Wald + Holz NRW, Markus Derix, Managing Director of the DERIX Group, had the pleasure of welcoming the Minister for Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Building and Equal Opportunities of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Ina Scharrenbach, as well as the Mayor of Cologne, Henriette Reker. They were interested in the project “The Cradle” as well as the newly introduced take-back obligation for DERIX components.
