DERIX Configurator:
Timber construction variants per mouse click
DERIX Configurator, interior view with click points
The new DERIX configurator is live and can be used immediately and free of charge at derix.de. Interested parties can use the configurator to explore different timber construction variants – component by component.
With the new tool, building physics aspects and the structure of the solid X-LAM components can be visualised and selected, and further information on the product can be displayed. Various surfaces for the DERIX solid wood components are available for selection, can be combined with each other and viewed in a specific room example. A range of variants for façade design round off the overall visual impression, which can be tried out here using an already realised construction project as an example.
To kick off our new application, we are showing a drone approach to the DERIX reference project “Stories”, a multi-storey residential building in Amsterdam, which transitions into the visualisation of an interior space. The outlined selection options are available here and the selected variants are visualised in the room.
“When talking to customers, we often find that many people don’t realise just how many design options timber construction offers,” explains Markus Steppler, Managing Director of the DERIX Group. “A room with visible wooden surfaces can have a very different effect depending on which surface or paint you choose. Many planners and building owners also want initial guidance on the system variants that best fulfil the building physics requirements of their project. This is why we have combined the visual design options with the selection of variants and further information on the components in the DERIX configurator. This means that anyone interested in timber construction can get a good first impression with just a few clicks, which we can then discuss in more detail in a personal meeting,” says Steppler.
The data in the DERIX configurator in the “Building physics” section is provided by dataholz.eu, a renowned online catalogue for timber components, which has established itself as a standard tool for modern timber construction with its extensive data material.
