Award for DERIX project:
Multi-generation house receives NRW 2022 Wood Construction Award
Multi-generation house in Bad Oeynhausen
One of the prizes was awarded to the multi-generation house in Bad Oeynhausen, which was commissioned by Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe and designed and planned by Bökamp architects. The execution (structural design and prefabrication of the X-LAM elements) was carried out by DERIX Group.
The four-story building was erected in cross-laminated timber construction and houses, among other things, a day care facility, a social station with offices, a multifunctional hall and, on the two upper floors, a residential community for 23 young adults. A three-group kindergarten of the same design was also built in a separate building.

“We are very pleased that this cleverly planned building project has been honored with the timber construction award,” says Markus Brößkamp, Managing Director of Poppensieker & Derix GmbH & Co. KG. “It is a very special building that was designed and implemented with a high demand for sustainability for a very diverse use by people with a wide range of social backgrounds and ages. It’s great that we were able to help implement and design this challenging project,” said Brößkamp.
The awards were presented during the 15th European Congress of the Forum Holzbau. The multigenerational house received its award in the category “Urban construction, construction in existing buildings, additions, multi-storey residential buildings”.
