Cradle to Cradle products

The “Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute”, based in San Francisco, certifies particularly sustainable products according to the Cradle to Cradle Certified® product standard. This globally recognised standard assesses the recyclability and sustainability of products and is the most advanced standard for safe, recyclable and responsibly manufactured materials and products.

The certification process

In the certification process of the Cradle to Cradle standard, the entire life cycle of the products is evaluated, including supply chains, production and return to the biological or technical cycle. In addition to ecological criteria, social and societal criteria are also assessed.

Five performance criteria are used as a basis for this: Material health, product circularity, clean air & climate protection, water & soil stewardship and social fairness. The results are presented in the product register of the “Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute” on a scorecard.
