Building resource passport
Significance of the circular economy
The circular economy is a concept that, for reasons of climate protection and the finite nature of resources, is increasingly being striven for by all actors and is also being demanded more and more concretely from the environmental policy side. For example, the transition to a circular economy is explicitly mentioned as one of the environmental goals of the EU taxonomy – future projects should consist of at least 50% recycled materials.
The Building Resource Passport
as a mandatory component of the circular economy
According to the coalition agreement of the German government, a digital resource passport for buildings and building products will also be mandatory from 2024. Such a building resource passport fully documents all components of a property, so that the components and materials can be offered for sale via raw material exchanges in the event of subsequent dismantling and efficiently reused for the construction of new properties. Because only those who know what is in a building can use it as a “material store”.
Owners can, for example, register their property on the cloud platform madaster and create a digital building resource passport.
DERIX cooperates with madaster to promote the development towards a circular economy.
