Dutch Houtdag
and National Timber Construction Award 2021
On 24 November, the DERIX group was present at the Dutch “Houtdag” in Musis Arnhem. The theme of this timber day was the future of timber construction. In several large and small lectures, innovative ideas and knowledge about designing and building with wood were imparted to the audience. Guest speakers were Shajay Booshan of Zaha Hadid Architects from London and Robert Schmitz of White Arkitekter from Stockholm.
In addition, the awarding of the Dutch national timber construction prize (“Houtbouwprijs”) took place on this day. The Triodos Bank in Driebergen, for which Derix supplied and assembled the timber construction, was voted the best timber building in the Netherlands! This office by RAU Architekten is praised by the jury for its exceptional construction and design and its very own identity. The public is also enthusiastic about Triodos Bank: the building not only won the higher-level timber construction prize, but also the audience award.
