Markus Steppler is Managing Director

Markus Steppler, new member of the Executive Board of the DERIX Group

Markus Steppler has been Managing Director at the DERIX Group since April 2024 and strengthens the now four-member management team of the timber engineering company. His main focus will be on the further development and internationalisation of sales activities.

Markus Steppler has been independently responsible for sales management projects at the DERIX Group since 2018. In recent years, the 43-year-old civil engineering graduate from Nettetal has developed and implemented strategic concepts that have led to a significant increase in order volume. His strong commitment to the topics of “sustainable construction” and “circular economy”, combined with his strong presence throughout Germany at relevant lectures, podcasts and discussions, has decisively strengthened the DERIX Group’s positioning in this important area. Markus Steppler played a key role in the company’s own development of cradle-to-cradle concepts and numerous optimisation measures in the area of sustainability.

Markus Steppler joined the DERIX Group six years ago, bringing with him many years of experience in the field of modular construction. After studying at RWTH Aachen University and the University of Padua, he worked for a leading provider of modular construction concepts, where he most recently held the position of Area Manager for Northern Germany. Several years of experience as a project manager and consultant (Drees & Sommer) as well as an expert and owner of an engineering office for modular construction round off his extensive expertise.

With Markus Steppler on board, the various areas of responsibility of the management team will become more differentiated and further professionalised: Markus Derix, as managing owner of the DERIX Group, will focus more on the organisation, innovation and further development of the company in future. As Managing Director of the Westerkappeln and Hamburg locations, Markus Brößkamp will concentrate on the global purchasing organisation in addition to managing them, while Simone Derix will focus on the commercial management of the DERIX Group.
