Visual quality

Visual quality means a surface finish that meets the highest requirements. It is possible for glulam for components and constructions of all kinds.

Production of visual quality

The surfaces of the components are planed in the factory to ensure the smoothest and most even surface possible. Knots with a diameter of more than 20 mm are replaced in order to achieve an even surface finish. Firmly grown knots, on the other hand, are permissible and give the wood a natural look.

Colour differences

Natural products such as BS wood are subject to natural colour variations, which are expressed by blue stain or red streakiness. Up to 10 % of the visible surface can be affected by this, without this having any effect on the quality of the material. These differences give the wood an individual touch and make it a unique building material.

The visual quality complies with the requirements of VOB ATV DIN 18334. If no special surface quality is agreed, visual quality is supplied as standard.
