Two-hinged frame

A two-hinged frame consists of one or two ledgers and two stems with flexurally rigid nodes and hinged, non-displaceable bearing of the foot points. The articulated support of the foot points results in a simple static indeterminacy, which gives the two-hinged frame a high load-bearing capacity.

The design of the two-hinged frame allows for high flexibility and an even distribution of the loads on the individual elements. This avoids high loads and stresses that can lead to material fatigue and damage to the structure.
