Hollow box ceiling
Similar to ribbed ceilings, hollow box ceiling are bonded composite cross-sections consisting of ribs made of glulam that are aligned in the main span direction and upper and lower planking made of X-LAM. Due to the bonding of the two timber materials, box-girder ceilings from a span of approx. 6 m represent an effective and economical construction variant compared to pure X-LAM constructions. The existing cavities can be used as an installation level or filled with insulation or additional weight to significantly improve the building’s physical properties.
