De uitdaging van dit project: het gebouw moest gebouwd worden voor de meest uiteenlopende sociale doeleinden met verschillende eisen en tegelijkertijd moest het voldoen aan een duurzaamheidsconcept. Bovendien was het budget krap en stond de opleveringsdatum vast. Hout scoorde hier meteen als duurzaam bouwmateriaal. In het houten gebouw met vier verdiepingen zitten een multifunctionele zaal, een caf\u00e9, dagverpleging, kantoorruimtes en andere ruimtes. Er is gekozen voor hout als bouwmateriaal, omdat het voldoet aan de eisen voor duurzaam bouwen. Een andere reden voor de keuze voor dit bouwmateriaal waren de mogelijkheden van de wijziging van de bouwverordening van de Duitse deelstaat Noordrijn-Westfalen die begin 2018 werd ingevoerd. De hoge mate van prefab van de houten onderdelen zorgde ook voor een korte bouwtijd en een stipte oplevering van het project.<\/p>\n
