De parochie St. Jakobus Frankfurt heeft in samenwerking met het bisdom Limburg in Frankfurt-Goldstein een nieuwe katholieke kerk laten bouwen als vervanging van de 55 jaar oude St. Johanneskerk. Daarbij bleven de klokkentoren en het baptisterium (de doopkapel) van de vorige kerk behouden. De kerk en parochiezaal hebben een oppervlakte van circa 550 vierkante meter, waarin zich een groepsruimte, pastoriezaal en bibliotheek bevinden. Het gebouw is open en heeft veel ramen. Ook het dak is van glas en wordt op zijn plaats gehouden door een gelamineerde houten draagconstructie van DERIX. <\/p>\n

Voor de gebogen vorm van het kerkdak zijn in twee richtingen gebogen gelamineerde houten onderdelen gebruikt. De dakspanten zijn gebogen, kegelvormig gefreesd en met witte beits geschilderd.
