The Cradle is het eerste hybride houten kantoor in D\u00fcsseldorf met een duurzame hout-betonconstructie. Het gebouw is gerealiseerd met een opvallende, ruitvormige gevel van glas en hout, die het een uniek uiterlijk geeft. De drie kelderverdiepingen en de begane grond zijn opgetrokken uit beton, terwijl de zes bovenliggende verdiepingen van hout zijn. In totaal ontstaan zo 5.200 vierkante meter kantooroppervlakte en 600 vierkante meter oppervlakte voor gastronomie. De naam \u201cThe Cradle\u201c is ontleend aan het zogenaamde Cradle-to-Cradle principe, dat de basis vormt voor de bouw. Door The Cradle volgens het Cradle-to-Cradle principe te bouwen, wordt gewaarborgd dat vrijwel alle materialen in de biosfeer (biologisch afbreekbaar) of in de technosfeer (te hergebruiken) blijven. Dit houdt onder andere in dat de demontage en de mogelijkheden voor verder gebruik of hergebruik al voor de montage zijn gepland. Dit bijzondere gebouw is reeds tijdens de bouwfase meermaals onderscheiden.<\/p>\n

Demonteerbare houtconstructies <\/strong>van DERIX<\/h3>\n

De speciale uitstraling van de gevel van het gebouw wordt gecre\u00eberd door vakwerk van glulam (lariks) in combinatie met glas. De vorm en afmetingen van de spanten zijn zo ontworpen dat ze ook als zonwering dienen. De kolommen en balken aan de binnenkant zijn deels gemaakt van ingekocht BauBuche en deels van glulam (vuren). X-LAM (vurenhout) is gebruikt voor de plafondconstructies. Er zijn geen gelijmde verbindingen, alleen schroef- en plugverbindingen, waardoor de constructie gemakkelijk kan worden gedemonteerd.<\/p>\n

De gevel van The Cradle is bijna helemaal gemaakt van houten onderdelen. Daarmee minimaliseert het gebruikte bouwmateriaal hout de toepassing van traditionele materialen zoals kunststof en beton. Het Cradle-to-Cradle-principe is bij het ontwerp van het gebouw consequent toegepast. De mogelijkheid om het gebouw te demonteren en de hieruit voortvloeiende mogelijkheden tot hergebruik maken het kantoor circulair en duurzaam. De binnenkolommen van hout zorgen bovendien in het bureau voor een gezond binnenklimaat en daarmee voor een aangename werkomgeving.<\/p>\n
