De bewering dat de MUF-lijm die wordt toegepast om de vurenhouten lamellen te verlijmen tot CLT-panelen schadelijk zou zijn voor de gezondheid, vanwege de vermeende hoge formaldehyde-uitstoot, geldt echter niet voor de MUF-lijm die wordt gebruikt door de DERIX-groep.<\/p>\n

Volgens het artikel op Architectenweb kunnen MUF-lijmsoorten schadelijk zijn voor de gezondheid vanwege de formaldehyde die hieruit tijdens de levensduur van het gebouw vrijkomt. Formaldehyde is een gas dat in verschillende branches en materialen (waaronder textiel) wordt toegepast, maar dat vanaf bepaalde hoeveelheden giftig en kankerverwekkend kan zijn. Om die reden is het belangrijk om de blootstelling aan dit gas zoveel mogelijk te beperken. De DERIX-groep is zich bewust van de risico\u2019s en gebruikt daarom een MUF-lijm waaruit een minimale hoeveelheid formaldehyde vrijkomt, ver onder de toegestane grenswaarden.<\/p>\n

DERIX heeft diverse VOC-emissietesten laten uitvoeren door gerenommeerde instituten. Tijdens deze testen is de uitstoot van diverse vluchtige organische stoffen, waaronder formaldehyde, gemeten bij elementen die zijn verlijmd met de door DERIX toegepaste MUF-lijm, de zogenaamde GripPro Plus van het merk AkzoNobel. De testen zijn te vinden op de Duitse website van DERIX<\/a>. Uit een test van het eco-INSTITUT in Duitsland blijkt dat de formaldehyde-concentratie in de lucht na drie dagen 25 microgram per m3 bedraagt. Na 28 dagen is dit nog maar 13 microgram per m3.<\/p>\n

\"\"Bij een formaldehyde-emissietest door Casco Adhesives, uitgevoerd in opdracht van AkzoNobel, is slechts een formaldehyde-uitstoot van 5 microgram (afgerond naar boven 10 microgram) per m3 gemeten.<\/p>\n

\"\"Al met al blijft de formaldehyde-uitstoot van elementen die zijn verlijmd met de MUF-lijm van DERIX bij alle emissietesten ruim onder de in het artikel van Architectenweb aangehaalde Belgische richtlijn van 30 microgram per m3. BREAAM NL hanteert voor het criterium HEA 03 Gezonde binnenlucht een grenswaarde van 60 microgram per m3, waar de MUF-lijm van DERIX ook met gemak onder blijft.<\/p>\n

Als conclusie kan gesteld worden dat de MUF-lijm van DERIX geen gevaar vormt voor de gezondheid van de bewoners en gebruikers van houten gebouwen.
