Hier werden ze samengevoegd tot een indrukwekkende draagconstructie, waarvan de vakwerkconstructie 42 m overspanning en 26 m hoogte meet. De grote afmetingen van de hangar bieden niet alleen een veilig onderkomen voor het luchtschip “Theo”, maar zullen in de toekomst ook plaats bieden aan ongeveer 1.500 personen in het kader van evenementen. Bijzonder spannend: om Theo gemakkelijk in en uit de hangar te laten stappen, moest de poortopening de juiste afmetingen krijgen. De twee op maat gemaakte poortvleugels, die afgelopen vrijdag zijn ge\u00efnstalleerd, hebben daarom een oppervlakte van 400 m2 per vleugel en een eigen gewicht van 82 ton per stuk. Ze worden geopend en gesloten door vier elektromotoren van 80 pk. Met de montage van deze gigantische poort zijn de essenti\u00eble montagewerkzaamheden aan de luchtschiploods nu afgerond en kon Theo afgelopen woensdag al zijn nieuwe onderkomen betrekken. <\/p>\n
