Daarbij werden de emissies van alle onderdelen van het bedrijf (productie, energievoorziening en toelevering of diensten van derden) bepaald en afhankelijk van hun schadelijke effect op het klimaat omgezet in CO2<\/sub>-equivalenten (CO2<\/sub>e). Het doel van deze maatregel was enerzijds om uit de resultaten nieuwe impulsen af te leiden voor de operationele klimaatbeschermingsstrategie van de DERIX-groep. Anderzijds vormen de resultaten van de balans de basis voor de geplande compensatie van emissies in 2023, waarbij de DERIX-groep dan als een klimaatneutrale onderneming wordt beschouwd. Duurzaam beheer en behoud van hulpbronnen zijn centrale richtlijnen van de DERIX Groep. Daarom heeft het bedrijf de afgelopen maanden en jaren een hele reeks initiatieven genomen om zijn productieprocessen en administratieve ruimte steeds verder te verbeteren. Zo is DERIX sinds 2021 het eerste bedrijf in de branche dat zijn houten elementen na gebruik terugneemt om het hout opnieuw te gebruiken voor de productie van nieuwe constructies en onderdelen in de zin van een consequente circulaire economie. Het product “DERIX X-LAM” is Cradle to Cradle gecertificeerd, de energievoorziening van het bedrijf wordt gevoed door eigen PV-systemen aangevuld met groene stroom en met het interne initiatief “DERIX for future” worden processen en structuren binnen de DERIX Groep duurzamer en milieuvriendelijker ontworpen. “Onze voortdurende inzet voor duurzaamheid en milieubescherming laat zien waarom de door ons nagestreefde status van “klimaatneutraal bedrijf” voor ons eigenlijk gewoon weer een consequente stap naar maximale klimaatbescherming is”, verklaart Simone Derix, commercieel directeur van de DERIX Groep en lid van de directie. “In dit verband zijn we bijzonder verheugd dat de vastgestelde emissiewaarden buitengewoon laag zijn. Dit is een uitstekende getuigenis van ons werk op het gebied van duurzaamheid en klimaatbescherming in de afgelopen jaren”, aldus Derix. <\/p>\n

De ongeveer 800 ton CO2<\/sub> die de hele DERIX-groep in 2021 heeft uitgestoten, is niet alleen extreem laag in vergelijking met andere productiebedrijven van deze omvang. Bovendien is het positieve effect van DERIX-producten op het gebied van klimaatbescherming in deze uitstekende balans nog niet eens meegenomen. Alleen al de houtproducten die het bedrijf in 2021 produceert, binden meer dan 54.000 ton CO2<\/sub>. De lage CO2<\/sub>-equivalenten van de balans laten niet alleen zien hoe effectief het bedrijf zijn duurzaamheidsstrategie in de afgelopen jaren heeft uitgevoerd. Ze vormen ook een optimale basis voor het bereiken van klimaatneutraliteit. <\/p>\n

Kai Lambertz, projectmanager bij Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Klimaschutz f\u00fcr die Holzindustrie (GKH GmbH), zegt: “Wij waren aangenaam verrast door de boekhoudkundige resultaten van de DERIX-groep. Door talrijke reductiemaatregelen in de voorgaande jaren konden reeds belangrijke emissiebronnen worden ge\u00eblimineerd. Daardoor werd een uiterst positief resultaat bereikt voor een productiebedrijf. Een bedrijf dat honderd procent emissievrij produceert is op dit moment technologisch (nog) niet haalbaar. De DERIX Groep heeft al veel zaken geoptimaliseerd en een aantal zinvolle maatregelen effectief doorgevoerd”, prees de auditor. Begin 2023 moet de vastgestelde CO2<\/sub>-balans in evenwicht zijn.
