Hout is het bouwmateriaal van de toekomst. Dankzij zijn uitstekende materiaaleigenschappen en ecologische voordelen wint het steeds meer aan populariteit. Het belangrijke principe om op alle gebieden rekening te houden met de bescherming van het milieu wordt in de bouwsector optimaal gevolgd door het gebruik van hout als bouwmateriaal. Met hout bouwen en in houten gebouwen leven of werken is een kwestie van ecologische verantwoordelijkheid en verstand \u2013 zowel voor ons als fabrikant als ook voor alle gebruikers. <\/p>\n

CO2<\/sub>-voordelen

Bomen onttrekken koolstofdioxide aan de lucht, slaan de koolstof op in het hout en produceren zuurstof. De CO2<\/sub> blijft in het hout opgeslagen, waardoor de atmosfeer tijdens de hele levenscyclus van het hout wordt ontlast.
Als het hout uiteindelijk verbrand wordt, komt daarbij dezelfde hoeveelheid CO2<\/sub> vrij als het hout eerder heeft opgenomen en opgeslagen. Dankzij deze gesloten cyclus van CO2<\/sub>-opname en CO2<\/sub>-afgifte heeft het bouwmateriaal hout in de levenscyclusanalyse de beste ecobalans.
Ons doel zou daarom moeten zijn om door de bouw van onze gebouwen met hout enorme koolstofreservoirs te cre\u00ebren en zo te verhinderen dat de CO2<\/sub> schade aanricht in de atmosfeer. Bovendien zouden we de levensduur van alle houten onderdelen maximaal moeten verlengen, zodat we zo lang mogelijk gebruikmaken van het positieve effect van de CO2<\/sub>-opslag op de klimaatbescherming. <\/p>\n

Om deze reden kunnen onze houten onderdelen meermaals worden hergebruikt.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Uit de reststoffen van houtproducten wordt meer energie opgewekt dan nodig is om deze te produceren. Daarom zijn houtproducten zogenaamde \u201aplusenergieproducten\u2018 \u2013 we kunnen ze produceren en gebruiken en hebben dan nog steeds een energieoverschot. Bovendien kent hout in vergelijking met andere bouwmaterialen bij de productie, het transport en de verwerking de laagste energiekosten. Dankzij het lage eigen gewicht en de tegelijkertijd grote sterkte is er bovendien minder energie nodig voor de productie, transport en montage van houten onderdelen dan voor de productie, transport en montage van andere bouwmaterialen. <\/p>\n

Hout is een onuitputtelijk teruggroeiende, natuurlijke grondstof met uitstekende mogelijkheden voor hergebruik. 90 % van het hout dat in Europa wordt gebruikt komt uit Europese bossen, die jaarlijks groter worden dankzij duurzaam bosbeheer. Wij hechten veel waarde aan een verantwoordelijk gebruik van de grondstof hout. Daarom zijn wij PEFC-gecertificeerd en gebruiken wij uitsluitend hout uit duurzaam beheerde bossen. Dit betekent dat er voor elke gekapte boom een nieuwe boom wordt teruggeplant. Hierdoor gaan wij ontbossing tegen. Onze grondstoffen komen vrijwel uitsluitend uit Europa. Zo houden wij de transportafstanden kort en vermijden wij CO2<\/sub>-uitstoot. <\/p>\n

Houtconstructies kunnen voor nieuwe bouwprojecten worden hergebruikt. Bovendien is er een scala aan andere mogelijkheden voor het hergebruik als grondstof of wat betreft de energiewinning. Daarom zijn houten gebouwen altijd een bron van grondstoffen. In een wereld met eindige ressources worden duurzaamheid in de bouwbranche en een verantwoordelijke materiaalkeuze steeds belangrijker en populairder. <\/p>\n

Vergeleken met andere materialen is hout een extreem licht bouwmateriaal met een hoge draagkracht, die dankzij zijn lage eigen gewicht slechts een fractie van de transportkosten en uitstoot veroorzaakt. Dit levert direct ecologische en economische voordelen op. Beton is bij een gelijke draagkracht vijf keer zwaarder dan hout. Dat leidt tot vijf keer meer transportkosten<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Hout slaat CO2 op. Daarnaast is er in vergelijking met andere bouwmaterialen voor de productie van hout de minste energie nodig. Hout is daarmee CO2<\/sub>-negatief en verreweg het meest milieuvriendelijke bouwmateriaal. <\/p>\n

Daarom waren we het eerste bedrijf in de sector dat zich committeerde aan een algemeen terugnameprogramma voor onze componenten. Dit betekent dat we de houten constructies en houten onderdelen die we produceren aan het einde van de levensduur van het gebouw, die wordt bepaald door de klant, terugnemen en het hout hergebruiken voor eventuele nieuwe constructies en onderdelen. Bij circulair bouwen wordt er continu gestreefd naar hergebruik van gebouwen en bouwmaterialen. Een nieuw gebouw moet daarom grotendeels uit recyclebare materialen bestaan en eenvoudig afgebroken kunnen worden. Zo kunnen constructies bijvoorbeeld aan het einde van hun gebruiksduur gedemonteerd worden en in een ander gebouw worden hergebruikt. Hierdoor wordt de levenscyclus van de gebouwen en materialen aanzienlijk verlengd en wordt er uiteindelijk zo min mogelijk hout verbrand. Dit betekent dat CO2<\/sub> langer opgeslagen wordt. Bovendien maakt hout als bouwmateriaal flexibele bouw- en gebruiksconcepten mogelijk, zoals modulaire houtbouwsystemen. Dankzij deze systemen is het mogelijk om gebouwen flexibel uit te breiden of juist te verkleinen en om ze eenvoudig te demonteren en op een nieuwe locatie weer op te bouwen. De DERIX-groep neemt als eerste onderneming in de bouwbranche haar gebruikte onderdelen<\/a><\/strong> terug om hiermee circulair te kunnen bouwen.<\/p>\n
