It not only provides a home for airship Theo, but also serves as a spectacular event venue. The knots are held together by wooden dowels, so no steel is used here either. The roof shell consists of X-LAM panels, encased in an aluminium fa\u00e7ade.
The gates are spectacular custom-made products. Each gate wing has an area of 400 m\u00b2 and a dead weight of 72 tonnes. The entire support structure is made of German wood, a renewable and recyclable raw material. The junctions were realised as timber connections. The old foundations, which were broken on site, were used as the substructure for the hall floor.
