Wood-concrete composite construction<\/a><\/strong> is an innovative construction method that makes optimal use of the material properties of wood and concrete. This type of construction is used especially for floor slabs and bridges. The concrete takes on the compressive forces, while the timber cross-section absorbs the tensile forces. Compared to pure timber constructions, the timber-concrete composite allows larger spans and smaller cross-sections. Compared to pure reinforced concrete constructions, this results in a lower dead weight.<\/p>\n

These screws enable a secure and efficient connection between the two materials. An alternative option is to create the bond using cervicals. Here, the bond is made similar to a carpenter’s connection, in that the shear force is transmitted via contact between the concrete and the wood.
